I HAVE A PROCLAMATION, WHICH I WILL BE PRESENTING TO KELLIE DOHERTY WITH THE BUILDING OPERATIONS ADMINISTRATOR, AND WE'RE GOING TO BE PROCLAIMING OCTOBER 6TH THROUGH 10TH, 2025 AS CUSTOMER SERVICE WEEK.

WHEREAS IN 1992, THE CONGRESS PROCLAIMED THAT CUSTOMER SERVICE WEEK BE CELEBRATED NATIONALLY DURING THE FIRST FULL WEEK IN OCTOBER AND WHEREAS CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AT THE HEART OF EVERYTHING WE DO AS A TOWN, ENSURING RESIDENTS, BUSINESSES, AND VISITORS HAVE ACCESS TO THE PROGRAMS, SERVICES, AND RESOURCES THAT MAKE JUPITER AN OUTSTANDING COMMUNITY.

WHEREAS, THE TOWN OF JUPITER'S DEDICATED CUSTOMER SERVICE PROFESSIONALS EXEMPLIFY EXCELLENCE EACH DAY BY PROVIDING RELIABLE, RESPONSIVE, AND COURTEOUS ASSISTANCE ACROSS MULTIPLE DEPARTMENTS, AND WHEREAS THE TOWN OF JUPITER'S CUSTOMER SERVICE STAFF ACROSS MULTIPLE DEPARTMENTS ARE OFTEN THE PUBLIC'S FIRST POINT OF CONTACT WITH RESIDENTS AND BUSINESSES, AND WHEREAS THE UTILITIES, CUSTOMER SERVICE AND FIELD REPRESENTATIVE TEAMS PLAY A VITAL ROLE IN HELPING RESIDENTS, MANAGE THEIR WATER SERVICE, ANSWERING QUESTIONS, RESOLVING CONCERNS, AND UPHOLDING JUPITER'S REPUTATION FOR PROVIDING SAFE, AWARD WINNING, DRINKING WATER.

WHEREAS, THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT SPECIALISTS ASSISTS HOMEOWNERS, CONTRACTORS, AND DEVELOPERS WITH NAVIGATING PERMITTING, AND INSPECTION PROCESSES.

WHEREAS THE PARKS AND RECREATION STAFF SUPPORTS RESIDENTS BY CONNECTING THEM WITH RECREATIONAL PROGRAMS, SPECIAL EVENTS, AND FACILITIES THAT PROMOTE HEALTHY LIFESTYLES, FOSTER COMMUNITY PRIDE, AND ENRICH THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR ALL WHO CALL JUPITER HOME.

WHEREAS, CUSTOMER SERVICE WEEK PROVIDES AN OPPORTUNITY TO RECOGNIZE THE ESSENTIAL CONTRIBUTIONS OF THESE TEAMS WHO EMBODY THE TOWN'S VALUES OF PROFESSIONALISM, RESPECT, AND SERVICE.

NOW, THEREFORE, I JIM KURETSKI, MAYOR OF THE TOWN OF JUPITER DO HEREBY PROCLAIM OCTOBER 6TH THROUGH 10TH, 2025 AS CUSTOMER SERVICE WEEK IN THE TOWN OF JUPITER AND EXTEND OUR GRATITUDE TO THE TOWN'S CUSTOMER SERVICE TEAM MEMBERS WHO SERVE OUR COMMUNITY WITH DEDICATION, CARE, AND EXCELLENCE.

WHETHER IT'S ANSWERING QUESTIONS, SOLVING PROBLEMS, MAINTAINING ESSENTIAL SERVICES, OR CREATING SPACES WHERE PEOPLE CAN CONNECT, OUR GOAL IS ALWAYS THE SAME, TO PROVIDE EXCELLENT SERVICE WITH PRIDE AND CARE.

MY NAME IS BRENDA [INAUDIBLE] AND I MOVED HERE TWO YEARS AGO TO BE WITH MY FAMILY HERE IN FLORIDA.

I CURRENTLY LIVE IN THE BLUFFS SOUTH OVER INDIANTOWN BRIDGE.

I'M HERE THIS EVENING TO TALK ABOUT A NEW PARK THAT I WOULD LIKE TO BE, HERE IN JUPITER IF POSSIBLE.

I CREATED THIS PARK FROM MY HEART BECAUSE WHEN I WAS YOUNGER, I NEVER GOT TO BE WITH MY REAL FAMILY.

I WAS PUT IN FOSTER CARE AT THE AGE OF 2-18.

I DON'T HAVE ANY MEMORIES, UNFORTUNATELY, OF BEING AT A PARK WITH A FAMILY MEMBER, MAKING MEMORIES AND BEING ABLE TO MAKE A LEGACY OF MY FAMILY.

I NAMED THIS PARK LEGACY PARK, AND IT CAME DIRECTLY FROM MY HEART.

I WANTED TO CREATE A PARK THAT WAS A PLACE WHERE FAMILY MEMBERS COULD GO FROM AGE 1-101.

EVERYTHING IN THE PARK WOULD BE SOMETHING SPECIAL FOR THOSE AGES.

IT SEEMS LIKE A LOT OF PLACES HAVE PARKS WHERE YOU HAVE A SPORTS PARK AND A DIFFERENT PLAYGROUND AND A RECREATION PARK, BUT MY PARK ENCOMPASSES ALL OF THOSE IN ONE PARK.

I'VE GIVEN YOU A HANDOUT, AND ON PAGE 1 OF THAT HANDOUT IS THE GRAND CENTER OF THE PARK.

IT'S THE MIDDLE OF THE PARK AND IT HAS A GRAND GATE CALLED LEGACY PARK, AND I WANTED IT TO BE GRAND BECAUSE I WANT PEOPLE TO COME AND BE PART OF THE PARK AND FEEL WELCOME.

I'VE GOT TO LOOK AT MY TIME, SORRY.

THEN WHEN THEY'RE THERE, THEY CAN FEEL INCLUDED BECAUSE THE CIRCLE OF THE CROWN MEANS EVERYONE INCLUDED AND WELCOME.

OF COURSE, THE CROWN ITSELF REPRESENTS PASSING THE CROWN AND A SCEPTER FROM GENERATION TO GENERATION.

THAT'S THE LEGACY.

THERE'S ALSO A MOSAIC WALL THAT GOES AROUND THE BUILDING THAT FLOWS AROUND THE WHOLE CENTER OF THE GATE, AND THAT WILL ENCOMPASS ALL THE DIFFERENT ELEMENTS FROM THE CULTURAL ELEMENTS IN THE PARK, SUCH AS ART AND MUSIC, EDUCATION, AND SPORTS.

ON PAGE 2, I WANT TO START WITH THE CENTER OF THE PARK.

THERE'S A HUGE PODIUM IN THE MIDDLE WITH A MASSIVE STRUCTURE.

YOU CAN ALWAYS PUT A CROWN ON TOP, OF COURSE, DEPENDING ON LOGISTICS AND LOCATION.

THIS ALLOWS THIS BIG AREA IN THE CENTER TO HAVE SPEAKERS, ARTISTS COME, PEOPLE TO TALK WITH THE CHILDREN, DIFFERENT RECEPTIONS OR JUST ANY EVENT THAT OUR HEARTS DESIRE.

THE WHOLE CENTER IS VERY OPEN AND ROUND.

BY DAY, PEOPLE CAN HAVE PICNICS AND COOKOUTS OR WHATEVER THEY WANT TO DO, LAY AROUND OR SIT ON THE BENCHES AND BE TOGETHER, BUT IT CAN ALSO BE MULTIFACETED.

AGAIN FOR ALL DIFFERENT AGES, I CENTERED THERE.

BEYOND THE MOSAIC WALL ARE SIX DIFFERENT SECTIONS.

IS THAT MY TIME?

RIGHT OUTSIDE OF THAT BIG HOLE AREA IS A WALKING TRAIL,

FITNESS TRAIL OR A TRAIL FOR THE CHILDREN THAT HAS ALL THE DIFFERENT LITTLE THINGS THEY CAN DO JUMPING AND SKIPPING AND HOPPING AND HOPSCOTCH.

BEYOND THAT, ANYTHING HAPPENS, WHATEVER, DEPENDING ON THE RESOURCES.

IT'S VERY ADAPTABLE.

FOR INSTANCE, THE CRAB IN THE LITTLE SEA AREA, IF THIS IS PUT DOWN, SAY IN OLD TOWN, AND WE GO TO OLD TOWN, WE TURN IT INTO A SHIP WITH AN OCTOPUS HANGING OUT, HOLDING A GOLD COIN STUFF FOR THE CHILDREN TO CLIMB ONE.

WITH YOUR CONSIDERATION AND YOUR IDEAS AND SUGGESTIONS, WE COULD PUT THIS TOGETHER AND MAKE IT A BEAUTIFUL PLACE FOR JUPITER FAMILIES TO MAKE MEMORIES WITH THEIR FAMILY AND A LEGACY IN THEIR FAMILY.

KEVIN'S BEEN THROUGH EVERY SINGLE ITEM WE'RE GOING TO BUY.

WE'VE TALKED TO EVERY VENDOR.

WE KNOW THE TIME FRAMES ON DELIVERED FOR EVERY ONE OF THEM.

SOME OF THESE THINGS, OTHER ITEMS THAT WE'VE JUST APPROVED, CARDIAC MONITORS AND ACCESSORIES.

THERE'S A DATA SHARING ELEMENT TO THAT.

WE WOULD HAVE MUTUAL AID AGREEMENTS WITH OTHER DEPARTMENTS, HOSPITAL SYSTEMS. DO ALL FIRE RESCUE DEPARTMENTS USE THE SAME SYSTEM? ARE THERE DIFFERENT SYSTEMS WITH DIFFERENT INTERFACES? HOW DOES THAT WORK IN TERMS OF A SEAMLESS RESPONSE?

>> THERE ARE THREE PRIMARY VENDORS THAT SUPPLY THESE TYPE OF DEVICES AND MONITOR DEFIBRILLATOR DEVICES.

NOT EVERYONE USES THE SAME.

THERE'S THREE DIFFERENT VENDORS AND THOSE ARE SPREAD AROUND.

PRIMARILY TWO VENDORS ARE USED MORE THAN THE THIRD.

THE DATA SHARING ISN'T NECESSARILY BETWEEN PROVIDERS.

THE DATA SHARING IS MORE BETWEEN US AND THE HOSPITALS.

THAT DATA SHARING IS AGNOSTIC TO THE VENDOR.

THE ABILITY TO TRANSMIT THAT DATA TO THE HOSPITAL IS BOTH VENDORS CAN DO THE SAME THING.

FIRST OF ALL, ON THE CUSTOMER SERVICE WEEK, I WANT TO THANK THE STAFF FOR THE WORK THAT THEY DO.

THEY'RE JUST TRULY REMARKABLE.

IF YOU'VE EVER HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO WATCH THESE FOLKS INTERACT WITH OUR RESIDENTS AND OTHER AGENCIES, CUSTOMER SERVICES JUST DOESN'T SAY ENOUGH.

WHEN YOU LOOK AT THEIR PROFESSIONALISM, THEIR INTEGRITY, THE FACT THAT THEY CONSTANTLY GO THE EXTRA MILE.

IT WASN'T THAT LONG AGO AT A COUNCIL MEETING.

WE HAD A RESIDENT SPEAKING ABOUT THE FACT THAT SHE HAD INTERACTED WITH OUR STAFF HERE IN THE TOWN HALL AND GOTTEN WHAT SHE THOUGHT WAS ALL THE INFORMATION THAT SHE COULD POSSIBLY GET.

THE STAFF FOUND SOME ADDITIONAL INFORMATION TO ASSIST HER WITH HER ISSUE AND ACTUALLY FOLLOWED HER OUT TO THE LOBBY TO TALK ABOUT, HEY, HERE'S SOME OTHER OPTIONS THAT YOU CAN TAKE.

IF YOU REMEMBER, SHE CAME HERE TO ACKNOWLEDGE STAFF BACK THEN AS WELL.

THEN I WOULD POINT TO THE BI-ANNUAL SURVEY THAT WE DO AND THE RESULTS THAT WE GET FROM THAT.

FORTUNATELY, I'M GLAD MOST OF THE STAFF HAS GONE BECAUSE THEY'VE BEEN WORKING ALL DAY.

OBVIOUSLY, WE'RE ALWAYS CONCERNED ABOUT PEDESTRIAN BICYCLE SAFETY AND THE JUPITER POLICE DEPARTMENT DOES A REMARKABLE JOB KEEPING UP ON THAT.

AS SUCH, THEY'RE GOING TO CONDUCT A HIGH VISIBILITY ENFORCEMENT CAMPAIGN ALONG INDIANTOWN ROAD FROM NOW THROUGH MAY OF NEXT YEAR.

THIS EVENT WILL BE HELD IN THE U-TIKI PARKING LOT AND WILL BE FOLLOWED BY A RECEPTION OF THE JUPITER LIGHTHOUSE.

ON WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 15TH, THE TOWN WILL HOST CONNECT WITH COUNCIL AT THE COMMUNITY CENTER FROM 6:00-8:00 PM.

THIS EVENT ALLOWS TOWN RESIDENTS AND BUSINESS OWNERS TO INTERACT WITH COUNCIL MEMBERS IN AN INFORMAL SETTING.

STAFF FROM THE TOWN'S POLICE DEPARTMENT, FIRE DEPARTMENT, PLANNING AND ZONING DEPARTMENT, BUSINESS COMMUNITY LAISON, AND PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT AND FINANCE DEPARTMENT, ALONG WITH FDOT, WE'LL BE ON HAND TO ANSWER QUESTIONS.

THAT PROPERTY IS LOCATED AT 408 CENTER STREET, AND IT'S THE LATEST PROPERTY TO RECEIVE THE LOCAL HISTORICAL SITE DESIGNATION FROM THE TOWN COUNCIL.

THEN FINALLY, FROM FRIDAY OCTOBER 17TH THROUGH SUNDAY, OCTOBER 19TH, THE TOWN IS PARTNERING WITH THE PALM BEACH COUNTY NORTH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE TO HOST HARBOURFEST AT THE PLAZA UNDERNEATH THE INDIANTOWN ROAD BRIDGE.

THE EVENT WILL FEATURE LIVE MUSIC, GREAT FOOD AND DRINKS, AND VENDORS FROM AROUND THE AREA.

ON SEPTEMBER 18TH, WE HAD A DIVE TEAM LOOK AT A NUMBER OF ANCHORED VESSELS AND DO UNDERWATER INSPECTIONS AND IDENTIFIED 13 THAT HAD BARNACLES AND HAD NO INDEPENDENT MEANS OF PROPULSION.

WARNINGS WERE SENT TO THE OWNERS AND I'M SO PLEASED TO SEE THIS PROACTIVE BEHAVIOR AND REACHING OUT TO THE OWNERS.
